The Marriage family have been milling quality flours in Chelmsford since 1824 and their range of stoneground and organic flours is sought out by discerning home bakers and professionals alike.
Following a competitive pitch, Spring was delighted to be chosen by to develop a marketing strategy, new creative approach for the brand and subsequent plan for the year.
Spring has been working with the Marriage’s team to agree objectives, brand values, a tone of voice and a creative thought that will underpin all work. With these in place work has now started on the creative and a launch of the new look is planned for early summer.

Dealing with national brands and retail is all in a day’s work for Spring, so it was hardly surprising that when the Conservative Party was looking for a creative design team to work with them on their conference retail zone we were appointed. The retail marketing invites retailers to set up pop up shops during the annual four-day conference.
Now in its third year, the retail zone has attracted many high street and department stores – Harvey Nichols, Marks and Spencer, Crombie and Blackwells – and reaches a captive market of more than 13,500 delegates, this year at the International Conference Centre in Birmingham.
Spring founder Erika Clegg said: ”It is an enormous coup for a mid-sized agency like Spring, situated outside London, to be awarded this work. It reinforces our ability to produce high-impact work that achieves results.”
Scott Seaman-Digby, from the Conservative Party Commercial Team which first commissioned Spring back in 2008, said: “Spring’s planning process gave them a good understanding of the retail opportunity at conference back in 2008 when they worked with us on the launch of Market Place.
“The success of the retail area over the past three years stands us in strong stead again for Birmingham’s 2012 conference, and we have been delighted to work with the team at Spring again.”

Adnams has repurposed their popular annual wine catalogue, courtesy of Spring, as ‘WineBook’ – a tactile, visually charming and information-rich document that just cries out to have its corners turned down and notes made across its pages.

Spring’s project delivery team has been Nikki Barker, George Bennett and Simon Hazelgrove, with strategic direction from Melanie Welsh and creative direction by Erika Clegg. The project has involved copywriting, design, illustration, artwork and production.

Consumer and Trade catalogues have been distributed this week. Please follow this blog and our website for a full case study soon.
