Spring alumni: Steve Mellor

November 30th, 2011 — 10:30am

Ex-Springer Steve Mellor – one of our first designers, and a really lovely chap who left us to pursue an artistic career – has featured in this month’s industry-insiders fave, Computer Arts, with his artworks Blue Gold and Apogee.

Norwich based Steve describes his Spring time with fondness in the article: “I worked with such a creative team and learned essential skills for developing my work.”

It’s always a pleasure to see Spring alumni flourish, and we look forward to following Steve’s progress over the next few years.

Spring client of the week: Signs Express

November 18th, 2011 — 2:24pm

In the first of a weekly series, we’d like to share some of the great things about Spring clients. We’re starting with Signs Express, one of the newest clients to hit our folio and a great Norfolk company that symbolises the entrepreneurial nature of the region.

Signs Express was founded by David Corbett and Franck Eliel in 1989 in Norwich, and now has 80 franchised outlets across the UK. The company prides itself on its training programme and the quality of support it offers to its franchisees, many of whom are running extremely successful businesses. Its brand reputation – of expertise and skill  – is upheld consistently across these franchises, testament to the quality of its people.

Signs Express

Spring’s working with Signs Express to provide design and artwork projects, which have so far included emailers, sponsorship marketing and their 2012 calendar. No mean feat, this last saw us commission 12 photographic scenarios from scratch, each season appropriate and with the Signs Express icon hidden somewhere in the scene.

We’re excited about 2012, which will see us develop our partnership with Signs Express across a range of exciting projects.

Breaking news from the Coast

November 8th, 2011 — 3:12pm

Spring was delighted to be commissioned by the AONB Suffolk Coast and Heaths to provide editorial for the Autumn/ Winter newsletter. Over an intensive month we paginated, interviewed, wrote and edited articles including Emma Hibbert’s favourite pub walk, updates on Alde and Ore Futures and events listings.

The resulting newspaper is now widely available across the region in pubs, shops, TIC’s and offices.
