Spring creates UK heritage sheepskin catalogue

September 28th, 2011 — 2:26pm

Award-winning British sheepskin clothing manufacturer, Nursey, has commissioned Suffolk-based creative agency Spring to produce its catalogue for the fourth year running.

The catalogue, for the Autumn/ Winter season 2011/12, is jam-packed full of hand-made, luxurious sheepskin pieces including stylish coats, hats, gloves and Nursey’s iconic slippers.

Nursey has been producing high quality sheepskin pieces from its workshops in the North Suffolk town of Bungay since 1790, and is still privately owned by the Nursey family. The company’s heritage and high manufacturing quality achieved recognition this year when it was awarded the Countryside Alliance/ Daily Telegraph Traditional Business Award 2011.

The last few years have seen this wonderful heritage company thrive, despite the economic and physical climate. Working with Spring to embrace modern communications methods including digital marketing has allowed Nursey to access a global market, and the distribution team at their Suffolk headquarters sends pieces across the globe throughout the year.

The catalogue, however, still remains at the heart of their marketing, and Spring is delighted to be involved in every aspect of this crucially important publication, from casting and photography, to copywriting and proofing, from design and artwork to print production.

“Nursey represents the best of British manufacturing heritage,” says Simon Hazelgrove, Spring’s Production Director, “and demonstrates how the skills which made the UK great in the 18th Century are still very relevant today. We are delighted to work in close partnership with Tim Nursey and his team to help them continue to grow in the 21st Century.”

Spring’s angle on two10degrees

September 28th, 2011 — 11:23am

Active Web Solutions, the consultancy led development company specialising in cloud computing, has followed the launch of their two10degrees brand, laucnhed at the Microsoft Worldwide Partners conference to positive feedback in July, with the launch of their new website, both designed by Spring.

The branding project involved creating a new logo from a brief to create something very strong typographically, without using icons or images – something really bold and clean and cutting edge.

Lucy Finlayson, Active Web Solutions marketing manager, says, ‘Cloud computing is a key focus and growth area for us and we needed a new brand to reflect our leading-edge software and services. The identity Spring has created for us does that perfectly.’

The two10degrees website was a partnership between the two companies; AWS’ technical expertise meant they were able to manage the technical build side of our design.

“We had a clear vision of what we wanted from the two10degrees website,” says Lucy Finlayson, Marketing Manager at two10degrees, “and Spring have managed to realise this for us in a way that perfectly represents the company and our new service.” “We are thrilled with the new site and have received nothing by positive feedback about the brand.”

AWS have been a great client to work with. They’ve been absolutely clear in their direction with the project; they knew what they wanted to achieve while giving us the creative freedom to express what we felt represents the industry-leading service.

Spring’s Suffolk Coast encyclopaedia launches

September 27th, 2011 — 3:56pm

We have over the past few months been busy creating an information-rich Suffolk Coast website, which has been reborn as a comprehensive online encyclopaedia of information on the region’s richly eclectic coastline.

Spring is working closely with Suffolk Coastal District Council and a group of tourism businesses from the coast, to create a fresh new approach for the site to reflect the ‘Open Skies, Open Minds’ ideology. The website will be an invaluable, living resource for anyone interested in learning more about the history, culture and activities on offer in and around the Suffolk Coast.

We gather information from local businesses, attractions and well-known characters, all of whom share their memories, experiences, information and ‘insider-tips’ relating to life along the Suffolk Coast. This information is reworked into articles covering a range of topics from events and activities to The Arts, culture, food and drink to encourage people to explore this beautiful part of the country.

Fiona Johnson, Economic Development Officer in Marketing and Communications at Suffolk Coastal District Council said, ‘We are thrilled with the new website Spring has developed. It’s fresh, attractive and engaging, much like the Suffolk Coast itself’.

Like the region’s natural scenery, the Suffolk Coast website will change and grow with the seasons, providing relevant information, events and articles dependent upon the time of year. If you have any information you think would provide interesting content please contact lucy.aldous@springagency.co.uk.

Lucy Aldous, PR executive at Spring said, “Our was aim to uncover the hidden gems of the Suffolk Coast and this is what we have achieved. Using Spring’s unique position at the heart of the Suffolk Coast, coupled with our extensive experience within the tourism sector, we uncovered the most intriguing features of the Suffolk Coast.”

Spring’s new Suffolk Coast website can be found at www.thesuffolkcoast.co.uk and the launch is to be supported by an ongoing PR and communications campaign and a highly-targeted ad campaign.

Southwold Concert Series review – Guitars

September 26th, 2011 — 9:09am

There was a terrific turn out for the first concert in Season 3 of the Southwold Concert Series. Regular attendees showed up in force, as did first timers, attracted by the promise of wonderful guitar music.

They weren’t disappointed – Yehudi Menuhin School alumni and Rolling Stones bursars Tom Ellis and Laura Snowden provided a captivating evening’s entertainment. The programme covered three hundred years of beautiful music, one set (excerpts from Letras de Humo by Colin Downs) still work in progress, which gave it a sense of raw immediacy that was, frankly, spellbinding.

Conversation bubbled over Adnams-sponsored interval drinks, where the talk was all of music, the new Southwold Concert Series designs and jam/ jamming.

Thanks, as ever, to Nathan Williamson, the series’ artistic director, whose hard work and vision make this series a thing of international quality in our beautiful town.

Better photos will follow later.
