Christmas comes early at Ipswich Town

Springers have had great fun working on the Ipswich Town Football Club’s Christmas Party campaign. The new campaign to promote the Club’s Christmas Parties, challenges everyone to take the Christmas Party Pledge and to become “The Party Hero” by arranging the best Christmas party ever.

ITFC’s Donna Talbot says: “It may seem strange to be thinking about booking a Christmas party in the summer but you’d be surprised how many companies like to organise their party early to guarantee their preferred date and package.

“Knowing they have already booked a great party avoids that last minute scramble to “make do” with what dates are left and takes the pressure off by co-ordinating peoples diaries in advance.”

The new campaign rolls out from the end of June.

Spring puts some punch in Ipswich Town

Spring has created a new identity for Ipswich Town Football Club’s business networking club, rebranding the ‘ITFC Business Networking Club’ as ‘Suffolk Punch’. This bold identity is a big change from its previous handle and better represents the values of the organisation.

We are delighted to be working with ITFC on this and other projects, the fact that they had the confidence to go with such a punchy brand rather than a safer option speaks volumes for their approach to business networking.

This market-leading networking club is now in its 8th year, with each event attracting 80-90 people. The newly branded club currently offers members a package of networking breakfast meetings with superb guest speakers, one lunch and one early evening event, all of which are included in the annual membership fee of just £165 plus VAT. 2011 has seen the addition of events like ‘Pie and a Pint’, ‘Wake up to marketing now – a practical workshop’ and ‘meet, greet and treat’.

Previous speakers have included William Kendall (Green & Blacks/Covent Garden Soups), David Hall (HFL), Richard Scudamore (Premier League), Will King (King of Shaves) and Brendan Foster CBE (Olympic medalist and 3000m world record holder).

Marketing Manager Donna Talbot says: “We listened carefully to our members and changed our offer earlier in the year to provide a really interesting networking club for local businesses to be part of, and the Suffolk Punch identity really supports our new initiatives illustrating our energy and unique approach to events.”

The new brand will be launched formally at the club’s next networking event and is already in use on their marketing communications materials.

Spring wins world’s top concierge group

I am delighted that I can now announce that The Ten Group, the concierge company which was founded in 1998 and has over 400,000 members worldwide, has commissioned us to undertake a new membership campaign.

Ten, whose numerous awards include listing in the Real Business Top 100 and Virgin Fast Track 100, employs over 350 staff in five offices across the globe. They completed their millionth member request in August 2010 and are growing at such a rate that they are due to complete their two millionth request in December 2011.

The secret to Ten’s rapid growth in this niche sector despite the global recession – in addition to high quality customer care – has been their policy of providing customer and employee loyalty schemes for organisations including Barclays Bank, Lloyds TSB and Royal Bank of Scotland.

They are now opening up their membership to private individuals, with subscriptions starting from just £49 a month.

Ten recruited Spring to market this new membership scheme based on our work for other global luxury brands which are focusing on expanding into new markets. This gives us the perfect platform from which to launch a consumer marketing campaign that will allow them to talk to a whole new sector.

We have already started to work together, and are currently creating a highly-targeted membership acquisition campaign with a launch timetabled for mid June.

Spring relaunches Television airfield.

Spring has now launched the new branding and websites for TV and film airfield Bentwaters Park and its renewable fuel division, Eastern Woodfuel.

We have been working alongside Sarah Brown for six months now, updating the brands, planning, designing and building these sites, and all manner of technical work including drawing up architectural plans and maps.

The sites feature amazing content including their resident Spitfire, military hire vehicles and fascinating insights into the Cold War and WWII uses for this airfield and its varied buildings – including the runway specifically designed for crash landings.

Next steps will be an introduction campaign targeting location scouts across the British film and TV industry. We are delighted to be working with such a famous feature of Suffolk.
