Spring clients in Countryside Alliance awards

February 23rd, 2011 — 11:03am

We are delighted to share the news that Nursey, the heritage sheepskin clothing company we work with, has made it into the finals of the Countryside Alliance Awards and will be attending the ceremony at the House of Lords next month.

Nursey is up for Best Traditional Business, thanks to their longevity (founded in 1790) and their insistence on one person per garment, handstitching their gorgeous gilets, slippers, coats, aviators and accessories.

We wish Tim Nursey and the team the very best of luck for the awards!

Mark Harrod’s winning team

February 22nd, 2011 — 11:11am

Last week saw Glen on the front of Simon’s chest, and on pull-up banners and flyers. No, Glen is not for hire; he was promoting the grab an iPad at a trade exhibition in Telford.

2000 teachers and sports trainers get together every year to find out what’s hot in the world of sport. We were there to support our client, Mark Harrod, with Simon sporting a white hoodie with Spring’s very own Glen Cone as the football model on his chest.

Whilst most of the stands were barren, you couldn’t move for the crowd at Mark’s. Simon, fuelled by the equivalent of eight espressos, roamed the halls encouraging visitors to get involved.

And Mark was happy too: “A truly fantastic day. We’ll have more of that please.”

Account Manager role: find out more

February 15th, 2011 — 8:00pm

Have you got what it takes to be a Springer?

Spring has been making a big impact since 2005. Our clients include governments, UK luxury brands, food and drink and property.

We’re a full-service agency, powered by an award-winning blend of raw young talent we identify and train, and experienced staff who head up key areas of our work.

We consistently punch above our weight – our idyllic Southwold location attracts heavyweight London talent who like competing on a national scale. Our MD is an IOD Businesswoman of the Year and we’re in the official Top 100 for the UK.

Our clients include Bollinger, Visit Suffolk, Dent Watches, Anderson Construction and The National Trust. We undertake some top secret international projects too: but you’ll only find out about those if you join us.

As one of our account managers you will report directly to Spring’s directors and head of strategy. You’ll also benefit directly from the input of our advisory board, which includes some of the industry’s most famous names.

You will be expected to manage all the day to day aspects of your accounts, from writing and overseeing creative briefs to arranging and managing meetings, from quoting and invoicing, to production research and timetabling. You will need to get under the skin of your clients’ ambitions (and their audiences), to care about their success, to be willing to do everything it takes to guarantee that success happens.

You must have a dedication and love for this industry that goes beyond the norm. A desire always to learn, and to join the dots between marketing methods, creative ideas and even client crossovers. Good just isn’t good enough for Spring: Springers thrive on excellence.

You need to be comfortable with brands, web, advertising, digital marketing, PR and print. You need to be flexible, imaginative and responsible. You need to be a master of the English language, and a lover of design.

You probably spent your teens with pictures of David Ogilvy and Tiger Savage in your school locker, your university years interning everywhere that’d have you, and the first steps of your career have already got you pegged as ‘the one most likely to succeed’.

Become a Springer and you will be a member of a very happy studio family. You’ll enjoy brainstorms on the beach, Friday lunch fish n chips, summer morning swims and a great quality of life.

Not to mention the opportunity to work with a fantastically diverse portfolio of clients: some of them already famous, some on their way to fame, in their way.

After a year you’ll probably become a shareholder and from the start you’ll benefit from a generous training grant.

Please write to erika.clegg@springagency.co.uk with your CV, explaining why you’d like to be a Springer and what you could add to our lives. Successful applicants only will be contacted. No agencies. We reserve the right to fill this post before the end date advertised on other sites.

Springers go social at the Barbican

February 4th, 2011 — 4:03pm

Yesterday Aprille, Mel and I went to the Barbican to take part in a social media event for marketers.

Our role was to introduce social media, giving an overview of how to launch a campaign, some great campaigns in social media’s (brief) history and to suggest where it may be going. Is it dead, as the artist formally known as Prince posited last year? Not a bit of it, though maybe becoming too mainstream for a separate name.

In the meantime we thoroughly enjoyed the chance to have a good poke around in this retro fabulous 40 acre enclave of the City. Naturally amongst the amazing architecture and hanging gardens our attention was most grabbed by food. Springers, eh?
